How to Install Trailer Wiring on a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor Pulling a Boat Trailer with a 5-Way
Question:
I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. My boat trailer has a 5 wire system. Can this wiring kit convert to the five wire plug? Trailer has a brake activation system.

Yes, the fifth wire on your boat trailer is most likely a reverse lock-out solenoid for the surge brakes so that you can reverse your trailer without the brakes activating.
I would recommend you install this Curt T-Connector # C56039 on your 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor (instructions attached) and then cut the 4-way off of the harness and then wire up a Hopkins Endurance 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM47900 by function to the wires that are now exposed from the # C56039 to the # HM47900. And then with the fifth wire you will use a section of wire to run up and tap into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle and splice it in.
Now you will have a fully functional 5-way at the rear of your 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor that will work on the 5-wire system of your boat trailer.
