Recommended Fishing Kayak Carrier for 2007 Honda Civic SI
Question:
Hello ETRAILER! I am very interested in this product, as I am new to kayaking. I plan to do fishing out of town but I’m very doubtful since my car does not hav factory roof racks/ bars. Will this product be sturdy enough and hold the kayak securing as I am on the highway? Average speed limit on the highway is 70 MPH. I drive a 2007 Honda Civic SI and the kayak I’m planning to purchase will be a Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100. Here are the dimensions of the kayak. Assembled Product Dimensions L x W x H 120.00 x 30.00 x 14.00 Inches Thank you!

A foam block kayak carrier is an economic way to transport a kayak on a naked roof but it isn't the most ideal for highway travel. My recommendation for your naked roof is to use the Inno # INB127 square bar roof cross rails with # INSUT, # INJK, and INK552 fit kits. Then use the Malone MegaWing Sit-On-Top Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - V-Style - Clamp On # MPG207 designed for use with fishing kayaks that are a little heavier and wider than traditional kayaks. I also recommend the Malone QuickLash T-Style Hood Loops for Bow and Stern Tie-Downs - Qty 2 # MPG308.
