Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Ford Focus ST for Bike Rack and Snowboard Rack
Question:
Hello, I plan to use this hitch to have either a bike rack or snowboard rack that folds in order to still have use of the hatch. I have two questions with regard to this product: Does this hitch opening go above or below the exhaust tip? Do you have a recommendation of a rack that can carry both bikes and snowboards that also folds? Thank you

For your 2018 Ford Focus ST, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11431 is a confirmed fit. The hitch receiver will sit above the exhaust tip. I've attached a photo from the installation instructions to assist and have linked those instructions as well.
For your bike rack I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway # TH934XTR due to the exhaust location and the ability to add the snowboard carrier # TH9033 which folds when not in use. The distance from the hitch pin to the back of the upright bar of the carrier is 13-1/2 inches so you will have a little more distance from the heat of your exhaust to protect your bikes and boards. I also recommend the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 to secure your rack and cable lock # TH538XT to secure your bikes to the rack. This bike rack is only rated to carry 2 bikes up to 35 lbs each when installed on a Class I hitch like the # C11431.
