The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55384 referenced in your question is designed for your 2013 Ford Explorer only if it came equipped with the factory tow package. If your Explorer does not have the tow package then you may be able to simply cut the factory connector ends off the harness and simply hardwire the harness into the wiring on your vehicle, but I highly recommend going with the correct harness instead.
If you don't have the factory tow package then the correct Curt 4-Way harness is the T-Connector # C56172. This will plug right into the factory port under the vehicle on the passenger side so you won't have to splice into any wires. I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
