Best Brake Controller for a 2010 Ram 2500
Question:
What is the best option in adding a brake controller to a customers 2010 Ram 2500? Seen a note on your website that an aftermarket controller may set a code. Is that only if there was a factory controller prior? The wiring adapter 3021-P work to plug and play? Any information would be great! Thanks!

The absolute best brake controller we have for a 2010 Ram 2500 is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195. This controller has integrated safeguards to protect both the vehicle/trailer, continuous diagnostics checks for safety, and storable boost setting which makes it very convenient if you tow different trailers.
The brake controller would not cause any codes to display assuming you do not already have a factory brake controller in place which if that were the case then you could still use the P3 but you would need to take the vehicle to the dealer to have the factory brake controller disabled.
In order to install this brake controller on the Ram you will want to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3021-P which makes for a direct plug and play install. I have attached an install video for you as well.
