Can Radial Tires be Used to Replace Bias Ply Tires on a Trailer
Question:

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, you can put radial tires on your trailer to replace the bias ply. You will just need to make sure that the new tires are the same size and load range as the old tires.
Radial tires track better and run cooler than bias ply tires. But for either style make sure that the tires are inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. Trailer tires, whether radial or bias, are made with a thick sidewall so if they are under inflated it will cause the thick sidewall to generate excessive heat.
