For a short-bed pickup like your 2014 Silverado 2500 with 6-1/2-foot bed that will be used with a trailer that has a Sidewinder (sometimes also called a Revolution) pivoting pin box, you can use a fixed (non-sliding) type hitch. These generally cost less, have fewer moving parts to maintain and are lighter than their slider counterparts.

Both the hitch and the Sidewinder pin box you choose naturally need to be rated appropriately for the weight of the trailer. In addition, the Sidewinder should be selected based on the trailer's OEM pin box part number. Matching up the original pin box number to the available Sidewinders means a simple bolt-on installation using the same hardware that hold the OEM pin box on the trailer.

You can refer to the linked article to see the listing of OEM pin boxes for which we have a Sidewinder. Both 16K and 19K models are available, as well as both standard and air-cushioned models such as the Reese 5th Airborne Air-Ride Sidewinder # RP61422.

I am partial to B&W 5th wheel hitches such as their 18K Patriot # BWRVK3255 and matching install kit # BWRVK2506. B&W do their own fabrication, all in-house in their family-owned Kansas production facility. The fit and finish of their 5th wheel hitches is unmatched.
