Recommended Gooseneck Hitch for a 2008 GMC Sierra and Trailer with a Ranch Hitch 5th-Wheel Adapter

Question:

I have a 2008 GMC Serria 1/2 ton crew cab pick up. I also have a 31 foot fifth wheel trailer. After purchasing a ranch fifth wheel adapter I am looking for thecorrect ball and rail assembly for the bed of my truck. After reading earlier tech information I determined I cannot use a hide a ball setup. Would greatly appreciate your reccommendations. I only tow the rig twice a year from a storage area less than 1/8 mile to my camp spot so I did not want to mess with the standard fifth wheel hitch in the bed of my truck. Thanking you in advance

I would recommend the Curt gooseneck hitch kit # C615-632 for your truck, which will work whether you have a 6-1/2 or 8 foot bed on your 2008 GMC Sierra. Please note that if your truck has a 6-1/2 foot bed, you should be using a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter that has an offset to give you enough clearance in tight turns. Ranch offers the offset section as a replacement part # AM3140, if needed. It would be a good idea to purchase the Ranch Hitch safety chains, part # AM3109.

The Curt gooseneck hitch does feature a ball that can be flipped over and stored, but the hitch kit is a custom fit and has been confirmed to be compatible with your vehicle. If there is a particular reason you believe this style of hitch will not work for you, please let me know. You can view the installation instructions at the provided links.
