How to Protect a Solera Slider (Slide-Topper) from Wind While Driving

Question:

Does this awning have any kind of a locking mechanism to keep it from buffeting as you go down the road? Base on pictures that people have posted, there appears to be at least 5-6inch of material from the awning rail to the roll drum when the awning is closed. It seams to me that this would be buffeting going down the road.

Yes, the Solera 8' Slider (Slide-Topper) part # LCV000168106 has a tensioning mechanism that will work to secure the fabric when retracted and traveling down the road. This can be achieved by turning the handle 14x as this will create the proper tension needed to secure the fabric. Please keep in mind that this slide-topper is designed for slide outs with a box width range (measured on the outside front of box, including flange) of 86" to 91-3/4". If you have a different box width measurement then please let me know what that is so I can provide you with the correct slide-topper.
