To ensure you get the correct size awning for your slide-out, measure from outer edge to outer edge of the trim. You will need 7" of clearance on both sides of the slide-out for the awning. If you don't have 7" clearance on both sides, go down to the next size; this will still give your slide-out plenty of coverage.
If there are two slide-outs next to each other, you will need a total of 14" of clearance between them for them both to have a slide-out awning. Again, you can go down a size if you are low on space.
Without a slide-topper, the roof of your slide-out room is continually exposed and can accumulate leaves and bugs and different types of debris. That debris can build up along the rubber strip at the top of your box, preventing a firm seal when your slide-out is retracted. Rain water can then get in and pool on the top of your slide-out. If you don't clear the water off each time it rains, mold can begin to form. And when your slide-out is pulled in, that mold gets inside your RV.
The Solera RV slide-out awning alleviates those problems by serving as a protective covering over the top of your RV's slide-out. Not only does it prevent debris from collecting on the roof of your slide-out, but it keeps water from pooling and potentially causing damage down the road. Because it mounts directly to the front of the slide box, the slide-out awning is able to automatically extend and retract every time the slide-out room is extended or retracted.
The durable awning fabric holds up to the rigors of the outdoors. It's made of premium 13.5-oz vinyl, which is an upgrade over the 10-oz fabric used in many awnings. This fabric also features heat-welded seams to prevent leaks. And it is made to withstand cold temperatures down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit, so it won't crack or degrade during the winter.
Use the self-tapping screws to secure the included access plate to the side of your slide-out, positioning the plate at the bottom of the T-molding. The two access brackets slide easily onto the access plate's track. The rods that are located at each end of the roller tube, which comes with the awning fabric already mounted, slide through the hole in the two access brackets.
The included awning rail is used to anchor the other side of the fabric to your RV. This rail can be mounted up to 5" above the trim on top of your slide box.
Note: It's important that the slide-topper sits at as steep an angle as possible so that any rainwater will drain immediately. Any water that sits in the awning can stretch out the fabric permanently and warp it out of shape.

Make sure you have some outdoor clear silicone and a square screwdriver bit before you get started as you will need them during installation. Love my new slide awning and don’t have to worry about debris getting on the top of my slide out any more. I highly recommend this product!

Received the Solara slide top awning yesterday. Very pleased with the awning. It was easy to install and looks good on the trailer. My only complaint concerns the self tapping screws included with the kit to anchor the hex bars. They are too soft and too easy to pop the head off. Which I did, and had to redrill and replace. Other than that am very pleased with my purchase.

the slide top I purchased has held up well and works well. I did have a complaint about the quality of screws provided with the awning. Without being snippy I doubt anything has been done about that and I bet people are still snapping the heads off of those screws.
This is the second delivery where the product picked is wrong. Worse, the shipping resulted in heavy damage to the packaging in both shipments and in this one damaged the product itself quite badly.

We purchased this Solera Awning Topper approx. 1 year ago. Two of us installed it. Took approx an hour to install. Was an easy install except for the burs on the awning brackets, that slid into the slide brackets. Had to file them down a bit to get them to slide into the bracket. The Topper has worked great and no more worries of water standing, or even leakage on the Slide Out. Happy Campers here........great investment!
Appears to be well made and attractive, nice addition to my brown Cougar. although the directions are vague and diagrams need to be improved I was able to assemble it in a reasonable amount of time. The sizing was correct and provides a lot of protection for my slide out.

Working as well as when new, purchased a second one sized for a 179 r-pod with same results although a small modification was necessary on the r-pod gutter drain spouts to install. Pleased with both.
ETrailer was awesome. After price matching (beating) the price for these slideout toppers at Camping World some arrived damaged during shipping. They promptly corrected all of my issues and sent replacements.
After this great customer support I'll use ETrailer whenever possible from now on.
Just finished installing the 8’ Solara Slide Topper on my Jayco Jay Feather 23 BHM. I’m very happy with the product so far. Time will tell how it holds up to the weather and highway travel. If you are the handy man type don’t hesitate to install this slider and save yourself an RV dealer’s installation charge. Just be sure to watch the video provided by ETrailer as the instructions that come with the slider leave a bit to be desired.
This worked out perfectly. I have a 2020 Jayco HT 30.5 CKTS fifth wheel with a bedroom wardrobe slide-out that leaks in heavy rain from water running off the sides of the slide-out. Multiple unsuccessful attempts to prevent the leak left me with the only remedy being a slide topper.
The ordering process went smoothly, the awning arrived in good time and was well packaged. I took my time installing everything, but it went flawlessly.

Slide topper arrived promptly with all hardware necessary to install. Installation went very smoothly. The only deviation that I did from the installation instructions is that I put the wall rail on the fabric before I put it up. I then put the slide out about 4 or 5 inches so I could put the whole assembly up there before I mounted the rail to the wall. Then it was just a matter of lifting it over the flange of the slide and inserting the hex bars. Worked out very well.
Met my expectations. Material seems to be of good quality. Installed the beginning of the 2022 camping season. So far so good!
I ordered three different sizes of slide out awnings and when I called you for correct sizing, you give me the correct size and part number that I needed . The whole process from start to finish was great. I even got follow up calls to make sure everything was going as should be. Very friendly and willing to help answer any questions that I may have.

Only reason for a 4 star rating is the instructions desired a little more information. Works great, but make sure the fabric is wound tight before securing. Round plastic "Keeper" for fabric wants to extend out with continuous use. Had to install an electrical tie at backside of roller to keep it from coming out. For sure keeps debris off of slide-out, and most rainwater.
When ordering the Slide-Topper the employees of E-trailer were knowledgeable and
helpful. Anxious to get it installed when weather warms up some. I have ordered from E-trailer a few other times and appreciate the courteous service.

No issues at all. Has been rolled in and out at least 30+ times in the last year, plus about 1800 miles on road. Installed easily by two people. Just take care and measure correctly.

Just what I wanted.Easy to install.Only problem was it does not come with the sealing tape.No problem.I purchased the tape online.Just think it should be included if needed for installation.

I was apprehensive about the dimensions for ordering and the install itself. Not to worry though...etrailer site had the needed info for measuring to order AND even had an install video for a R-Pod that I was going to install on. (I have a 189).

I purchased this slide out cover a year ago and it has worked flawlessly. I do volunteer work for various federal agencies as well as wildland firefighting and pretty much live in my travel trailer 247, and I never worry about bringing my slide out in when it rains or snows. In a year or so when I trade in my trailer and purchase a new one, if it doesnt have Lippert slide out covers, Ill definitely spend the money to purchase them.
