How to Prevent the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver Part # C13701 From Scraping
Question:
After installing it on the back of my 5th wheel travel trailer The height from the bottom of the hitch to the ground is only 10 inches and less then that at the frame from the brackets hanging down after bolting it to the trailer frame Am I going drag? and do damage to the frame of my 5th wheel? It’s installed on a 2005 Cedar Creek by Forest River 33 foot

There is a possibility that going over a bump could then cause the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13701 to drag the pavement. In order to prevent damage to the trailer hitch I recommend installing skid wheels like part # UF48-979014. I have attached a photo of these skid wheel installed to give you a better idea of how they will work. You would not experience any damage to the trailer's frame and trailer hitch once the wheels are installed. Unfortunately, this is the only real way to fix the above without repositioning the trailer hitch which may not always be an option.
