Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2006 Chevy Colorado
Question:
We have a Hopkins 7 blade/4 pin connector installed on our 2006 Chevy Colorado. We needed the 7 blade and for the camper and the 4 pin for the boat. Diagram shows yellow is left and brake and green is right and brake, with brown being the tail light. The problem is our brake and tail lights are both the top light and the turn signals are the middle light. Turn signals work on the trailer but break and tail lights don’t.

You have a 3 wire system, so you will need to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118301 to convert the wiring on your 2006 Chevy Colorado. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Chevrolet Colorado's wiring harness, which is located beneath the truck bed, near the driver's-side frame rail.
This harness will convert your truck wiring into the traditional trailer wiring you stated to fit with your Hopkins 7-way and 4-way Connector. If you mean that your camper light wiring has the separate brake and turn signal, then you will need the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196 to separate the functions on that wire.
