I am happy to help you make your choice between the two excellent platform bike racks you mentioned, the Swagman Chinook # S64683 and the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ.
Where the Swagman Chinook wins the comparison is in weight capacity (45-lbs per bike vs. 35-lbs for the Thule) and long wheelbase compatibility (up to 50-inches vs. 46-1/2 for the Thule). The Thule weighs about 10-lbs less and is USA-made while the Swagman is heavier and is made offshore.
The two carriers are otherwise neck and neck in features and I can tell you from experience that both companies are very solid in their customer service and after-sale support. I have owned products from both companies and I would buy both again if I had it to do over again.
What is really most likely to make one better than the other for any given user is the specifics of the two bikes to be carried. If your bikes are right at or near the 35-lb weight limit for the Thule Doubletrack then I would go for the Chinook.
