Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier for 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Question:

I will be happy to walk you through what you will need to add a roof rack and kayak carrier to 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in the budget you mentioned. You said there are places to install a rack system, but I am unsure if that meant your '18 Outlander Sport had a naked roof (meaning no rails of any kind on the roof already) or a roof with factory flush-mounted rails that run front to back so I'll give you options for both. Rhino Rack is a high-quality roof rack manufacturer and they have a great aero rack available; I highly recommend a rack with aero bars as it will cut down on the amount of wind noise and drag that square or round bars give you. - If your Outlander Sport has a naked roof (no rails at all), the rack will be made up of Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 (Black) OR # RRVA126S-2 (Silver), Crossbar Legs # RRRLKVA and Fit Kit # DK289. - If your Outlander Sport has flush mounted side rails the rack will be made up of Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 (Black) OR # RRVA126S-2 (Silver ) and Crossbar Legs # RRSX031. To carry a pair of kayaks a great option is the Inno Kayak Carrier System # INA455. It fits most crossbars and has padding to keep your kayaks from getting any scuffs or scratches. This carrier also comes with the necessary tie-down straps and bow/stern tie-downs for a pair of kayaks so you are not going to need to purchase those separately. This is obviously quite a bit of information so if you have any questions please let me know and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

Happy to help and there's no reason to feel silly because there are a LOT of options for your car and it can be pretty overwhelming. Trust me when I say there are many people who have the exact same same question as you. Take a look at the accompanying photo, which is the Rhino Rack on a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. I've also added a link to a video showing this rack being installed on this car with fixed mounting points. If this is what your Sport has, and I'm guessing that it is, then this rack will fit! Roof racks do not come with the bars and feet together because each vehicle has different fit requirements. For example, the Rhino Rack that fits your fixed mounting points is made up of your choice of crossbars that come in Black # RRVA126B-2 or Silver # RRVA126S-2, Crossbar Legs # RRRLKVA and Fit Kit # DK289. This rack and the kayak carrier I previously mentioned, the Inno Kayak Carrier System # INA455 would work great for your '18 Outlander Sport.
