4 Bike Rack Recommendation for 2012 Subaru Forester for Rear Cargo Area Access
Question:
Hi we have a 2012 Subaru Forester - I am looking at the Yakima HoldUp 4 Bike Rack - Platform Style - Tilting - 2 inch Hitches. Would this fit securely on our car? Do you think we would still be able to open the back with the bikes tilted down? Ive never used a rack like this one. Thank

Yes, as long as you have a 2 inch hitch installed on your 2012 Subaru Forester like the Draw Tite part # 75650 the Yakima Holdup4 part # Y02443-2 that you referenced wil fit and work well.
If you had bikes loaded on this rack and went to tilt it down the weight of the rack and bikes would be more than you'd feel comfortable with as the rack alone weighs 100 lbs.
A better solution for rear hatch clearance would be the part # TH9027XT which pivots out and away from the rear of the vehicle for cargo access. Check out the review video for more info.
