Remote Transmission Cooler and Mounting Accessories for a 2004 Chevy Suburban 5.3 Liter  

Question:

What parts would I need to make the install easy? 5.3l with A/C. Are there AN fittings that have hose barn to allow for clamping existing lines and attaching to the fan itself? Where is the best place to source power to this? Is it thermal controlled itself or would an inline switch be needed? Thanks for your help!

Using the GM-specific snap-in radiator adapter fitting # D13035 will make installing a transmission cooler such as # D12733 easier because with it you would not have to cut and flare any lines for installation.

The core on this cooler has 6 AN fittings. This cooler does not come with a thermostat but one can be added using # D13021. You will also need a mounting kit such as # D13002, hose clamps such as # D13008, and hose # D13017. The other option is a remote cooler that comes with these parts, # D13950.

The fans draw 5.1 amps. The power wire will need to attach to a switched 12 volt source via either a manual switch or a thermostat (I recommend the thermostat). For the thermostat you would connect one of its terminals to a switched ignition source. This will be a source that only has power when the ignition is in the ON position. The radio is one example of a switched ignition source.
