Question:
I HAVE A 94 SUZUKI SIDEKICK. NEED THE BASE PLATE 118-1. THE MH I BOUGHT CAME WITH A FALCON II TOW BAR BUT IT DOESNT HAVE A CROSSBAR. IS IT NEEDED FOR STRENGTH and WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE QUICK CONNECT BAR. DO I NEED ANY OTHER PARTS TO TOW THIS VEHICLE OTHER THAN LIGHTS. THANKS CROSS BAR RM-067 OR 910021-00

It sounds like you not only need the bar but some of the other parts that originally came with it and the Falcon II tow bar # RM-520. That means you would need the whole assembly which is # 910021-00. The assembly and the tow bar will then be compatible with base plates # 118-1 for your 1994 Suzuki Sidekick.
If the tow bar did not come with safety cables you will need a set of those as well # RM-643.
You will also need a lighting solution. A popular option is the LED bulb and socket kit # RM-152-LED, regular bulb and socket kit # RM-155, or a diode kit, # RM-154.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have linked a help article showing how to measure and a link to the high/low adapters we carry.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the preferred systems for our installers and what I recommend is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional system, # SM99251. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
