Towing a 1994 Jeep Wrangler with Nissan Xterra. Do I need bumper reinforcement brackets as well as a tow bar? What does an entire package cost? Thanks

Flat towing a vehicle requires 5 components: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system.
For your 1994 Jeep Wrangler you would need base plates, # 1409-1 that you have referenced. These are standard base plates that provide a secure and safe attachment point for a compatible tow bar.
For a tow bar, the most economical is the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, with a 5,000 pound capacity. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.
For safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster Coiled Cables, # RM-643. These cables have a 6,000 pound capacity and the coiled design helps to keep the cables from contacting the ground.
For lighting there are several options depending on your specific needs and how often you will be flat towing the Jeep. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers the various options for you.
Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle that is being towed. The easiest to use and install is the Even Brake, # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Current pricing information is available on each product page. I have also included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
