For your 2018 Ford Explorer, the etrailer # e98865 is not a fit. You will instead want the Draw-Tite # 76034 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. I've attached an installation video for you. There is no drilling required, but if you have the hands free lift-gate sensor, the areas away from the center where the receiver tube is will work. The area in the center will be limited due to the hitch shape.
To add trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118540. This is a simple installation to factory wiring using the factory harness. You may also want the mounting bracket # 18144.
For a ball mount, I recommend the adjustable B&W mount # BWTS10037B. This will give you two hitch ball options as well as adjustability to tow level. I've attached a video to assist. One of the really cool features of this ball mount is the ability to store it behind the shank for a clean look. I recommend using # e98882 to secure your ball mount.
