The Thule Force XT cargo box # TH6358B is a fit for the factory roof rack on a 2016 Subaru Forester. To determine if the box will interfere with the rear hatch there is a measurement on the vehicle that is needed.
With the front crossbar as far forward as it can go measure from the center of that bar straight back to the nearest point of the opened hatch. If that distance is greater than 51-1/8 inches then there will not be any interference.
If you come up with a different, shorter measurement let me know what it is and I can recommend a box that won't interfere with the hatch.
