Hard Brake Line is Too Long to Install a Titan Brake Actuator with Electric Lockout

Question:

I would like to get a titan surge brake coupler w electric lockout. The problem I have is an Atwood and I have a fixed hard brake line and the lockout cylinder will place brake line in front of trailer brake line. What can I do? I hate the Atwood but I dont want to have to bend new brake line for trailer. Im looking for suggestions. This is on at 25 foot boat trailer. Thanks

Since the hard line that you have is too long you need to either cut it to length or just shorten it and install the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line # T0776500. You will need to flare the hard line though so that it fits the actuator.

If you would rather just replace the brake line on your trailer with flexible hose then you can use the Kodiak Kit # 18SI-BLKIT for a single axle trailer or part # 20TA-BLKIT for a tandem application. I have linked our selection of flexible hose kits for you to filter through as well.

You referenced the Titan Brake Actuator which has been replaced with the Dexter # 099-175-20 which is a great choice for disc brake applications, but if you have drum brakes (which are more common) you need part # T43397007K instead. For an electric lockout I recommend # T4748800.

Please note that you do need to have the electric lockout connected to the reverse light function on your vehicle. You can do this by installing the Tow Ready # 20036 on your vehicle (wiring the blue wire to the reverse light function) and then installing the Hopkins part # HM47910 on your trailer.
