Determining Year of Manufacture Based on VIN Number
Question:
I just bought a trailer without a title and Im trying to get a new one. I have found the vin number but the DMV needs too know the year of the trailer, how do I go about finding that out? I know its a Paris made trailer but I cant get a hold of them to run the vin. Any help would be much appreciated.

Your Trailer Vin should be able to give you the year it was manufactured. If your Vin is the 17 digit traditional format post early 1980's, then the 10th digit will give you the ending digit of the year it was manufactured. I've attached a photo to assist with the code.
When you say Paris Trailer, all I can find is Paris Custom Trailers or PJ trailers, both of which are located in Paris, Texas. They may be able to assist if you don't have the 17 digit VIN.
Your final option would be to go to your state highway patrol who can issue you the information needed to register your trailer with your local DMV.
