How Does Air Bag Replace in Lippert Trailair Pin Box
Question:
2001 Cedar Creek 5th wheel with 2004 TrailAir pinbox. Need instructions for replacing air bags. Old bags no longer hold air. Ordered new air bags, got LC432404 replacement from etrailer, but not sure what or how I need to take the old bags out and put the new bags in. Can I do the job by myself or should I take it to a shop? I appreciate your time and effort.

I called my contact at Lippert and although we do not have an installation video I was able to find the instructions that explain how to install a replacement air spring like part # LC432404.
You would need to do the following per the instructions:
The bag is fastened at the bottom first by inserting the carriage bolt in the key hole shape opening on the lower plate allowing the bolt head to slide in and be pulled forward securing the bag in place. Secure air bag with the air fill fitting in the up position with 2 locking nuts, not exceeding 20 ft/lb torque on the top plate of the air bag. Install air fitting using Teflon tape or pipe sealing compound. Install the shock absorber using the longer bolts with locking nut. Tighten nuts to 60 ft/lb.
