Wiring 2012 Kia Soul with Combined System to be Towed by RV with Separate Wiring System
Question:
I have a 2012 KIA Soul with combined system and will tow behind 1996 Foretravel separate system, I have purchased Universal wiring kit 154. I have purchased the Brite-Lite 732. Do I need the brite Lite system? On the diagram for the brite lite system it does not have the brown wire connected to anything. I got an error on the installation instructions. What do I need?

For your RV that features a separate wiring system and your towed Kia Soul that has a combined system, you will indeed need to add the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 that you mentioned to the Wiring Kit # RM-154. This is needed to convert the separate signal on the RV, specifically the stop and turn signals, to the same wire so that the lights on your Kia Soul's combined system function properly. The brown wire, which is for the running/tail lights, does not need to be connected to the converter.
