I spoke with my contact at Stromberg Carlson and the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle for RVs, # AC-300, uses #14 x 2 inch screws. In order to mount the handrail you will want to drill 1/8 inch pilot holes making sure that you are drilling into a solid surface. They also recommend dabbing a small amount of caulk in the pilot holes before mounting the handle. This will help to keep water out.
