Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 1999 Ford F-150 with 5.4 liter V8

Question:

I haul a 5000 lb fifth wheel camper. Should i get a tranny cooler? And does his truck come stock with one? How easy is it to install?

For towing a trailer like what you mentioned with a 1999 Ford F-150 a supplemental transmission cooler would be a great option that we would highly recommend. Most likely your truck came with a factory cooler but typically they do not do a very good job at all. Especially around the age of your truck. The newer vehicles have better coolers but the older ones are adequate at best for light duty applications.

I'd recommend the part # D13503 as this is a very popular and efficient cooler that will work great in your truck. Then the correct fittings to install this are # D13024 and # D13025.
