Rear Helper Springs for a 2006 Toyota 4Runner with 1 Inch Rear Lift Kit

Question:

Have an 06 toyota 4runner sport with 4.7L V8. I am going install a 2.5 inch front 1 inch rear leveling kit. Will Timbrens still work? Or should I get air bags in the coils? What are advantages of Timbrens over air system?

If you are getting a lift kit on your 2006 Toyota 4Runner then air bags that fit inside the coil springs are not going to work. There are no spacers to make up for the additional space created by the lift kit for the coil spring air bags. The exception is if you were to have a body lift instead of a suspension lift since in that case there would not be any extra space.

There are spacers available for the Timbren systems though so I recommend going with # TTORSEQ. If the lift kit does add 1" of space between the top of the rear axle and the bottom of the factory bump stop then you will also need 2 of spacer # TA25723-90AD00.

If there is between 1/2" and not quite 1" of additional space then you would use 2 of the 1/2 inch spacers # TA25722-90F00.
