Question:
I’m wireing my primus to a dodge 2500. Do I follow the list of colors you listed above and match to dodge harness!

Expert Reply:
The wire colors used in the harness for the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 will not be the same as the wires you will need to splice into on your Dodge Ram 2500 for installation. You will need to use a circuit tester like part # ALL640595 in order to determine the correct circuits to use for the brake controller.
Depending on the year of your Dodge Ram 2500, a plug in adapter that will not require you to cut or splice any wires may be available for you. If you have a Ram 2500 between 1995-2009 then you can use part # 3020-P, part # 3021-P for a Ram 2500 between 2010-2012, part # 3023-P for a Ram 2500 between 2013-2014, or part # 3024-P for a Ram 2500 between 2015-2018.
