There are a few things that you can do to troubleshoot your wiring situation and hopefully get you back out there to fish. You will want to start off by checking the connector on both your trailer and your 2005 Chevy Trailblazer as well as the connectors on your adapter. Make sure they are clean and free of any dirt or debris. If that looks good then you will want to check all of your grounds to make sure they are connected to a clean, bare-metal surface.
If the adapter that you are using is a 7-Way to 4-Way, like part # PK12716, and your connectors look clean then you will want to move on to the wiring itself. You can use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to test the pin in the 11 o'clock position on your 7-Way (see attached photo). If this is sending power when your running lights are on, then the problem is your adapter or the trailer wiring.
You can perform the same test on the trailer wiring, part # TLL56RK, by using the 12V battery from your Trailblazer and connecting the positive terminal to the different 4-Way pins while the battery is grounded. If everything lights up properly on your trailer, then the trailer wiring is good.
If either the Trailblazer or the trailer are not functioning properly then you will want to check the wiring for any places where the wires look damaged, bent, exposed, or corroded and correct them as needed. If everything tests out correctly but they don't work together, you may want to take your towing setup to a shop so that they can physically inspect it.
