The best way to determine which wires carry which tail light function is to use a circuit tester, like part # 3808. You will want to have a friend help you. With the vehicle in park, emergency brake engaged and the keys in the power mode, have your friend operate the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals as you test the wires.
I have linked instructions for the Curt Powered taillight Converter, part # C59236, as it should be installed on your vehicle exactly as the instructions state.
I'll link you to an FAQ article that addresses how to route the power wire from the rear of the vehicle to the battery.
