In order to determine if your 2008 Buick Lucerne is a standard model CXL or a special edition, there are a couple of things you can do. If the driver seat is a power memory seat that remembers your settings and your tires are size 245/50R18, then you have a special edition. But the definitive way to determine the trim level of your Lucerne is to contact a local dealer and have them run the VIN number of the car and they will be able to tell you for sure which one you have.
The Curt Trailer Hitch, # C12044, is for any model that is not a Super or Special Edition. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
If you do have a Super or Special, we don't currently have a hitch that fits.
If you can get a hitch installed, then I recommended ball mount is # 36063 and you can use pin and clip # PC2. For a ball you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring use Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56047. I have included a link to the installation details for this harness for you to view.
