Fitting Adapter for Transmission Cooler to Go From 5/16 inch Hose to 11/32 inch
Question:
Sorry. Instructions not clear at all. If my existing trans lines are 5/16inch and hose furnished with cooler is 11/32. Then I assume insta-dapt screws into existing 5/16inch radiator transmission cooler receiver fitting and allows the 11/32inch furnished hose to slide onto the other end of the inst-dapt and then tightened on to it with clamp. But now the other end of the 11/32inch furnished hose - now attached at one end to the radiator - needs to be attached to the 5/16inch line back to the transmission. So how do I connect the 11/32inch furnished hose to the 5/16inch transmission line? Do I assume that the larger 11/32inch inch hose pushed onto the smaller 5/16inch line and then clamped shut will not leak? If this is the answer, I dont get a warm, fuzzy feeling about it at all. You couldnt be meaning to tell me to do this. Am I missing something? Another sheet that came with the instructions has several fittings that apparently connect the hose from the radiator transmission cooler to the line going back to the transmission. But I dont see my car listed on that page. Is such a fitting required to solve my problem in allowing an 11/32inch hose to fit onto a 5/16inch line? And if so, I think it should have been included in my installation kit - or at least mentioned on the second sheet with fittings for the other cars. Another question: my cooler might fit better in front of my AC condenser if I mount it vertically instead of horizontally. Would this affect the cooling or function of the cooler?

Expert Reply:
Since you have 5/16 inch lines and the hose that comes with the kit is 11/32 the fitting you need is the part # D13031 which is designed just for this.
The cooler can install vertically or horizontally too. Either way will work just as fine.
