Differences Between Titan Snow Cables and Glacier Snow Cables 2009 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Im taking a trip this winter through Colorado, Utah, and Northern California. Id like to buy some cable style chainsinch for my FWD minivan. Your website is great for determining exactly which ones fit, thanks for that. There is a pretty big price difference between the Titans and Glaciers that fit my vehicle considering I may only use them for this single trip. Is there a big difference in quality? Should I pay the extra money for Glaciers even though I may only use them once, or maybe even not at all depending on conditions when I am traveling. If there is a tensioning system show in the picture, do the chains come with this as well? I see that they are sold as accessories. Im assuming this is because they can be lost or damaged but I just want to make sure. And, is it so common that these tensioners are lost that I should have backups? Even just for a single trip? Thanks!

According to your owner's manual, tire chains/cables are only to be used on the front two wheels and must be Class S compatible. For your 2009 Toyota Sienna we have both Titan part # TC1038 and Glacier part # PW1038 cable options. Both cables are similar in design with a few key differences.
The Glacier cables have an included 90 day warranty whereas, the Titan cables only have a 30 day warranty. I recommend going with the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains part # PW1038 for this reasons. As long as you have either the 215/65-16 or 225/60-17 tires that came standard on your vehicle, then they will work well for you.
Both set of cables have built-in tensioners for a secure fit. However, if you are referring to rubber adjusters you will need to purchase them separately. The Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters part # PW105 are recommended for either cable option. If properly installed and secured, they are not necessarily prone to falling off though it is never a bad idea to have an extra pair in case of emergencies.
I have attached an installation video of the cables installed on a similar vehicle in addition to a review of the rubber adjuster arms for you.
