Available 4-Pole Wiring Kits for 2012 Acura MDX and Part Needed to Convert to 7-Way
Question:
I have a 2012 Acura MDX. I am looking for a wiring harness for it, either a 5 pin or 7 as I have an adapter to convert it to a 5 pin. I do not see it available here. Am I missing it? Thank you

The wiring harness kits we offer for the 2012 Acura MDX are the 4-pole type, such as Tekonsha # 118424 and the others shown on the linked page. These can be used with a 5-pole adapter such as # 20036 which allows, for instance, connection to the vehicle reverse light circuit to activate a trailer coupler's electric reverse lockout.
4-pole wiring carries only basic trailer lighting signals but it is easy enough to convert 4-pole wiring to a fully-functioning 7-way (with the three additional circuits for trailer brakes, 12V power and reverse lights) by adding our kit # ETBC7 to the 4-pole harness. Both a helpful article and video on this kit are linked for your reference.
I also linked an article on trailer wiring that covers all formats and the signals included with each.
