Brake Controller Recommendation for 2017 Audi SQ5
Question:
Hi - I bought a Tekonsha brake controller from you a while back and installed it in my Touareg TDI - which I have now sold. I have a 2018 Audi SQ5 with a factory installed trailer hitch receiver. I would like to use the Tekonsha brake controller with my new vehicle - what wiring harness should I get for this controller. I see that the Tekonsha controller takes a 4 pin plug. We actually don't have a way to install a hardwired brake controller in your 2018 Audi SQ5.
Currently the only solution we have is the wireless Tekonsha brake controller that is similar to the Tekonsha you have. For that you would want the part # TK94FR. With this controller all you need is a 7-way with functional turn signals and the 12 volt power circuit completed.
If you have a 4-way already all you'd need is the part # 37185 which will convert it to a 7-way and then you'd need to run the 12 volt power wire to this to complete it with the part # 10-1-1 for the wiring and then part # 9510 for the breaker that you'd need to install there.
