If your 2006 Nissan Titan has a factory 7-Way, the brake controller port will be located behind the dash, left of the steering wheel column. It will be taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have attached an image that shows the port location on your 2006 Titan.
If you do not yet have a trailer brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is a great proportional controller that will activate your trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your tow vehicle. It features an easy to read digital display along with continuous diagnostics to alert you to any potential issues. You will just need the Plug-In Wiring Harness # 3050-P to use the built-in port on the Titan. One end of the adapter will plug into the controller itself and the other end will connect with the factory harness.
I have included the installation details for this brake controller that you can look through.
