Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2018 Honda Odyssey for Cargo Carrier and Bike Rack
Question:
I own CargoLoc folding hitch cargo carrier 60inch by 21inch - which hitch would you recommend for 2018 Honda Odyssey? I am strongly considering e98855 model, however, I am a little concerned with the ground clearance. Would e98855 model be much higher off the ground and by how much? I do not plan to tow anything. Main use will be cargo carrier and bike rack for 4+ bikes. Also, would I need to add a raiser like Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2inch Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs Item # D210 - or any similar, so I can increase clearance? I am mainly going to be using this on-road without any extra off road terrains. Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you!

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C64NR will have slightly better ground clearance compared to # e98855 for your 2018 Honda Odyssey. The real benefit of # C64NR is that the receiver will be the only part of the hitch that is visible. I have included a couple of pictures so you can see the hitches installed side by side.
To get more height between the ground and your cargo carrier or bike rack using the Curt multipurpose ball mount # D210 is a great option. Other adapters reduce the tongue weight capacity of a trailer hitch by 50 percent. But since D210 is a ball mount and not an adapter there is no reduction in hitch tongue weight!
