Should the Tires Be the Same Size on a Trailer that Weighs 5,000 Lbs.
Question:
I bought a concession trailer, which weighs 5000 lbs, it has 2-175 80 13s and 2 - 185 80 13s on it. Is this dangerous or can I tow it with no problems

Expert Reply:
I would recommend to always match the tires on your trailer. In your case I would recommend the larger 185/80-13 tire size to give you more load capacity.
The tire I would have is the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range D, part # AM1ST79. This is a load range D tire that has a maximum load capacity of 1,725 lbs at 65 psi. So four of these tires would give you a total load capacity of 6,900 lbs at 65 psi.
Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum psi rating for best performance and longest life.
