Tow Bar Wiring, Stop Light Switch Kits, and Fuse Bypasses for a 2017 Chevy Traverse
Question:
I have a 2017 Chevy 2LT Traverse and would like to know what would be the best brake light kit to use for towing behind my motorhome. I will be getting the SM99251 braking kit for this car.

For a stop light switch kit for use on your 2017 Chevy Traverse and SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is # RM-751221. It will activate the RV brake-monitoring system whenever the Traverse brake pedal is applied which ensures that the supplemental braking system is functioning properly.
If you are talking about actual lights for the Traverse then Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 is the most popular tow bar wiring system for the 2017 Chevy Traverse. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
You will also have to pull some fuses to flat tow your Traverse. Consult the vehicle owner's manual to confirm. To make this process as easy as flipping a switch you can use fuse bypasses # RM-76517 and # RM76514. They are not required but do make removing power to the fuses easier.
