Availability of a Weight Distribution System that Will Fit an 8 Inch Wide I-Bean Trailer Frame
Question:
I need a WD hitch, but the trailer I need the hitch for has an 8 I Beam frame. The lift brackets supplied are much too narrow to fit over the beam. Is there a model of WD hitch that will fight an I-Beam trailer frame?

What you can do is weld a steel plate on the outside of each of the frame rails and use Chain Hangers for Reese Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On, # RP58305, with a weight distribution system like # 49570 that you have referenced. Any welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder.
When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want want that has a tongue weight capacity range that encompasses your trailer tongue wight when it is loaded and ready to tow. The Reese Weight Distribution Kit with Shank, # 49570, is designed for tongue weights between 600 and 1,200 pounds.
