As long as the opening of the c-channel frame is on the inner portion of the trailer's frame rail, and the weight distribution system's frame rail brackets mount to both sides of the frame rail, like the Equal-i-zer systems do. Yes, they will work with a c-channel frame. I have attached a photo of the brackets I am referring to for you.

In order to recommend the correct weight distribution system for your needs, I would need to know your towing setups total tongue weight. This can be done by using a tongue weight scale such as the e99044 Trailer Tongue Weight Scale part # 5780 to calculate your trailers loaded ready to tow tongue weight in addition to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. A weight distribution system is recommended when the gross trailer weight (GTW) is more than 50% of your gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). You must also ensure your vechiles trailer hitch receiver is rated for use with a weight distribution system. Generally speaking, the tongue weight (TW) of a trailer is typically 10-15% of the gross trailer weight (GTW).

When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want your total tongue weight to fall in the middle of the tongue weight rating for the weight distribution system. All of our weight distribution systems are rated for use with a trailer frame height of 6". Therefore, no, there is not a weight distribution system that is more equipped to work with a 6" tall aluminum trailer frame than the next.

If you can provide me with your total tongue weight then I would be happy to recommend a weight distribution system however, I have attached my recommendations of a weight distribution system with sway control for the following tongue weight ranges for you below.

600-1,000 lbs: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET

800-1,200 lbs: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37120ET

1,000-1,400 lbs: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37140ET

I have also attached a video review of both the Sherline Scale and Equal-I-zer System for your review.
