Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Towing System Components For 2014 Chevy Traverse LTZ

Question:

I am looking at buying a trailer hitch and wiring kit for a 2014 Chevy Traverse LTZ. I put the Draw Tite 75528 as well as the T One Wiring 118270 in the cart. During an installation video for the T One wiring, it appears there is another part needed but when I did a search for it the results were 0. Could you point me in the right direction on what I would need for a complete wiring kit? Thank you.

For your 2014 Chevy Traverse LTZ, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75528 you mentioned. It is an easy to install trailer hitch receiver with the stylish round tube design and black powder coat over an e-coat base for great rust protection.

For your trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118270. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Chevrolet Traverse's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the vehicle, near the frame rail on the passenger's side. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuses and relays into their locations in the fusebox, which is located in the engine compartment. This will give you a working 4-way trailer connection at your bumper.

I've attached an installation video where they mention adding some dielectric grease to the connector prior to connection. This is a good idea to keep water, dirt, and other debris out of your connection and help it to work properly. It is part # 11755.

The last thing you need for towing is a ball mount. I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This will give you an adjustable ball mount to ensure you can tow your trailer level. It comes with a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, and has a really nice stowable feature for a clean look when not in use. This will also protect your shins when loading and unloading cargo. I've attached a video to show you these functions. I recommend using a hitch lock like # e98882 to protect your investment and deter theft.
