Is Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 Compatible With BrakeRite Actuator?
Question:
I bought a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with the factory-installed brake controller. It is not compatible with my BrakeRite electric over hydraulic trailer brake actuator on the trailer. Can an aftermarket electric over hydraulic brake controller like the Prodigy P3 be installed on the truck so I can pull any electric over hydraulic trailer? The engine on the truck is 6.6 Duramax. Thank You.

It is not uncommon for factory trailer brake controllers to be incompatible with electric over hydraulic systems, but you asked the right question, because the simple answer is yes, you can use the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195 in your 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with the factory brake controller. This controller will work well with an electric over hydraulic actuator such as the Titan BrakeRite, # T4813102.
Installing a brake controller in your Sierra will require some additional steps, which are outlined in the help article I have linked for you.
