For your 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 With 6-1/2 foot bed, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56001-53. These rails are a little longer for easier installation and fit to custom brackets for your truck. If you are interested in shorter rails at the standard 43 inch length with custom fit brackets, I recommend the # RP50066-58.
Either length of rails will be compatible with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034 you mentioned. This 5th wheel hitch is an excellent choice for your 6-1/2 foot bed to provide you with the turning clearance you need without jumping in and out of your truck to adjust the slider. The Automatic sliding features of this hitch make it an easy to use and peace of mind option for your truck and trailer. This hitch has a travel of 14 inches front to back and has height settings of 15-1/4, 16-1/2, and 18 inches.
For additional security, you may be interested int eh Tow Ready Base Rail Lock for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 1/2" Diameter Pin # TR63254. For easier wiring connection, I recommend adding the 7-way to the bed of your truck using the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring harness # 50-97-410.
