Can Curt Weight Distribution System C17500 be Used on a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 V8 and 3.42 rears. The factory receiver has a label that says its rated for 12,000 gross and 1,200 tongue weight. Will this receiver work with a Curt weight distributing hitch? The factory receiver has two brackets on each end that are bolted to the frame of the truck. My old dodge 2500 had one very thick bracket on each end and it was definilty rated and used with a wd system for several hundred thousand miles. The thanks for any advice.

Normally we recommend people check the owners manual or hitch for a separate rating when used with a weight distribution system, but for a full framed truck like your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 with such high towing capacities we basically know already that it is rated for weight distribution. I attached a review video that shows this system being installed on a similar Silverado 1500 as yours as well.
The Curt TruTrack part # C17500 would work well on your vehicle. It comes with a hitch ball as well.
