We have heard that the connector needed to use for trailer wiring in your 2016 Subaru Outback can be difficult to find. One customer came back and said that if you use a mirror and a flashlight you will have a much easier time finding it behind the interior panel.
Here's what one customer told us about locating it in a similar 2017 Outback:
"On the 2017 Subaru Outback, it is behind the trim panel on the driver's side just in front of the rear wheel well. I found it very close to where the fold-up tie-off device is located. It is pretty high up and it takes quite of bit of blind reaching to get to it."
