Comparing Kuat NV 2.0 And Kuat NV 2.0 Base Hitch Mounted Bike Carriers
Question:
I am considering the Kuat NV 2.0 or the Kuat NV 2.0 Base. What is the difference? I noticed the base model does not include the trail doc. Is there anything else different between them? I would use it for 4 bikes with 2inch hitch. Thanks,

There are a few minor differences between the Kuat NV 2.0 bike carrier, part # NV22G-NA22G, and the Kuat NV 2.0 Base carrier, par # BA22B-BA02B.
Both bike carriers have a 60-lb capacity per bike when carrying just 2 bikes but when the add-on is attached the weight capacity drops to 40-lbs per bike.
The biggest difference is the distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier when folded up or down. On the NV 2.0, the distance when the rack is folded up is 7-inches and when folded down it measures 10-1/2 inches. For the NV 2.0 Base that distance is 11-3/4 inches when folded down and 6-5/8 inches when folded up.
For bikes with fat tires both bike racks can use part # APBK that lets you carry a bike with tires up to 4-3/4 inches wide.
