Finding Brake Controller Connection In 2010 Range Rover Sport With Factory 7-Way
Question:
Hi, you may have already answered this, if you have I cant find it. I have a 2010 Range Rover sport, I have a Teckonsha P3 brake controller that I want to install. There does not seem to be a plug anywhere under my steering column for me to connect the P3 too. I have seen several videos on youtube that do show a plug under the dash. I have called my local range rover dealers and none of them have every heard of the pre-installed plug that you can just plug the P3 with the adapter into. however, there is a plug that looks like an USB slot. Is that it? Maybe the Australian Range Rover sport doesnt have this mysterious plug. final question- even if i find this plug do i need to run wiring to the battery and also back to the existing 7 pin plug? Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards Ross

For your 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, to connect your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, the connection point for the brake controller wiring harness # 3035-P should be under the dash next to the brake switch to the left of the steering column. The connection in your picture is not the correct harness connection. It could also be beneath the dash near the center console or even behind the glove box on the passenger side.
If you are unable to find the connection, as you well may with a vehicle from the Austrailian market, you can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires for function until you find the correct ones to splice into. Your other option would be to use # 5506 and run the wires from your 7-way to your brake controller and battery.
