Ball Mount Recommendation to Clear the Back of a 2007 Chevy HHR

Question:

It seams after careful measurement that using this unit #C45014 it will give me only 1inch or slightly less clearance from the ball platform to my bumper. Is this enough clearance or should I purchase the #C45015 with what appears to be an additional 2inch of clearance from the ball platform to the bumper? I own a 2007 Chevy HHR and will be towing a 4foot x 6foot low top enclosed all aluminum trailer with a empty weight of 450 lb and a gross weight of 999 lb.. I have not purchased the trailer at this time and need the hitch to go pick it up. The trailer sales did not have what I needed.

If you were to use ball mount # C45014 on your 2007 Chevy HHR it would be very tight so I do recommend going with the longer # C45015. If you have or are looking at hitch # C11447 then the ball mount that Curt recommends is # C45520 which is about the same length as C45015 so it would also have enough length.

For either ball mount if the trailer takes a 2 inch ball use # C40018. And if it takes a 1-7/8 inch ball use # C40001. And if you don't already have a trailer wiring harness you can use # 118407 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle.
