Recommendations for Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Hitch on 1999 Ford F-350 Short Bed

Question:

I have a 99 f350 7.3 short wheel base. I will need a gooseneck ball and in the near future I will be needing a fifth wheel. With short wheel base hauling multiple trailors, what is your reccomendations to accomodate both?

The best option to tow both a gooseneck and 5th-wheel trailer with your 1999 Ford F-350 with 6-3/4 foot bed is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W along with the underbed installation kit # BWGNRK1108-5W. This is a great sliding 5th-wheel hitch that will give you an additional 12 inches of clearance for making sharp turns with your truck's shorter bed. The hitch has a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and vertical load limit of 5,000 pounds.

The great thing about this system is that the underbed rail kit can be used as a gooseneck hitch when the 5th-wheel is removed. The gooseneck hitch has a gross towing weight of 30,000 pounds and vertical load limit of 7,500 pounds. This will also include the safety chain loops and required hitch ball. I have attached a video review of this system for you to check out.

I also recommend adding a 5th-wheel wiring harness like the Draw-Tite # C56000. Once installed, this will provide a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck for easy trailer hookup.
